In the market, Invisible Tape-in Hair Extensions are commonly known as machine injection PU tape hair in factories. This special tape hair extension imitates the natural growth of hair in its tape part to achieve a more invisible effect after installation.

However, many customers who are not familiar with the characteristics of this product usually don't realize another difference from ordinary tape hair, that is, due to different manufacturing processes, the optimal hair weight for each piece of tape is also different.

Common Problems and Their Underlying Causes

Numerous customers have relayed that, in the course of their interactions with other hair suppliers, they encountered the issue of obvious hair loss with invisible tape hair extensions, prompting them to resort to ordinary tape hair on certain occasions. 

Why is this? 

Firstly, it may be due to quality problems caused by immature craftsmanship of factory workers, such as improper glue application or inaccurate tape-hair combination. Other possible reasons could involve sub-standard raw materials, flaws in the production equipment, or insufficient quality-checking procedures. 

Secondly, it should be noted whether your supplier has given you reasonable suggestions regarding the weight of each piece of invisible tape hair.

The significance of Proper Hair Weight per Tape

Generally, the tape specifications of invisible tape hair extensions are 4 cm wide and 0.8 cm high in a long strip shape, which is the same as that of ordinary tape hair. The production of ordinary tape mainly relies on the gluing process, usually multi-layer bonding. Therefore, the restriction on the number of grams of hair adhered to each piece of tape is much looser. From 12 inches to 30 inches, 2.5 grams per piece is no problem, and it is even possible to reach 3 grams or more for 20 inches and above.

However, for the tape of invisible tape hair, since it has to imitate the effect of hair growing from the scalp, the tape is like the "scalp". Simply put, the fixing force of the hair is reduced by half and can only be fixed by the other side of the tape, and also make the other side look as realistic as possible. More hair in each piece requires more "injection" into the tape. For short lengths, excessive hair can lead to shedding; for long lengths, insufficient thickness looks the ‘scalp’ (the tape) unnatural. Therefore, a professional factory supplier is supposed to offer you professional suggestions, but in reality, many of them don’t.
